Speculaas-pear tart

Speculaas is of all seasons, but in spring a fresh counterpart makes it extra delicious. This little speculaas-pear tart contains De Ruiter’s Bakery's delicious speculaas paste, which gives the pears a unique and rich flavor.

    Requirements

  • 250 grams flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons speculaas paste
  • 2 tablespoons speculaas spices
  • Pinch of salt
  • 120 grams granulated sugar
  • Half a teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 245 ml milk
  • 100 grams unsalted butter
  • 2 pears
  • Almond shavings
  • 1 egg (for smoothing)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixer
  • Springform pan (20 cm)
  1. Put the sugar, butter and salt together in a mixing bowl and mix until a cream forms. 
  1. Add the flour, baking powder, speculaas paste, speculaas spices and milk and mix well. 
  1. Finally, add the 2 eggs and vanilla extract to the batter and mix briefly. 
  1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. 
  1. Line the springform pan with parchment paper and grease the edges. 
  1. Pour the batter into the springform pan. 
  1. Peel the pears and cut them in half, without taking the core with them. Place them alternately in the mixture. 
  1. Sprinkle almond shavings on top and brush the tartlet with a beaten egg. 
  1. Place the springform pan in the oven and bake the tartlet for 45 to 60 minutes.
