Speculaas buttercake

We all know the traditional piece of buttercake, but what if we combined it with our delicious speculaas?

    Requirements

  • 200 grams room temperature butter
  • 100 grams speculaas butter
  • 85 grams white caster sugar
  • 80 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 320 grams flour
  1. Mix the butter with the sugar and salt and, when mixed, add the speculaas paste.
  1. Add the flour and knead the mixture until it becomes a coherent mass.
  1. Cover the mixing bowl with a tea towel and let the dough rest in the refrigerator for an hour.
  1. Press the dough into the greased buttercake pan. Don’t have one? A closed quiche mold works fine as well.
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  1. Brush the top of the buttercake with a beaten egg.
  1. You can put it in the oven like this, but it is more fun to make a nice pattern in it. You can do this with a fork.
  1. Bake the buttercake in the oven for about 20 minutes.
  1. Is it done? Then let it cool down.
  1. Share it around!
