Christmas tree cakes with speculaas crumbs 

Delicious Christmas tree cakes made from our speculaas spice cake! Perfect as a snack or just as a dessert during the holiday season.

    Requirements

  • Spice cake from our website.
  • 6 De Ruiter’s windmill cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 large tablespoon speculaas paste from De Ruiter's
  • Colored icing
  1. Crumble 6 De Ruiter’s windmill cookies and set aside.  
  1. Bake this speculaas cake according to directions, but do so in a shallow, square baking pan. 
  1. Once the speculaas cake has cooled, cut out Christmas trees from the cake.  
  1. Mix the cream cheese with melted De Ruiter’s speculaas paste and spread it over the Christmas trees.  
  1. Dip the Christmas trees in the speculaas crumbs so they are completely covered.  
  1. Make the icing from the powdered sugar with a very small amount of water. To make it extra Christmassy you can add green and red food coloring.
