Speculaas waffles

Give your breakfast or brunch a festive touch with the delicious speculaas waffles from De Ruiter's Bakery. These airy waffles are not only easy to make yourself, but also incredibly tasty! For an extra spicy flavor, add speculaas spices to the batter. Serve the waffles with fresh fruit and a drizzle of syrup for a delicious brunch.

    Requirements

  • 300 grams flour
  • 10 speculaas cookies
  • 2 tablespoons speculaaskruiden (speculaas spices)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 100 grams granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 400 ml (plant-based) milk
  • 400 ml (plant-based) milk
  • Pouring syrup (for the lovers)
  1. Finely grind the cookies in a mincer. 
  1. Add the flour, cookie crumbs, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar and speculaas spices to a bowl and stir together with a whisk. 
  1. Add the oil, milk, eggs and vanilla sugar and whisk until the batter is nice and smooth.  
  1. Heat and grease the waffle iron. (Beware! Hot!) 
  1. Using a ladle, carefully pour the mix onto the iron. Fill the plate completely, but don’t make the layer too thick! Otherwise, the iron will overflow when you start baking the waffles. 
  1. Bake the waffles for about 5 to 7 minutes until done. 
  1. Remove the waffles from the iron and pour some syrup on top, if you feel like it. 
  1. Enjoy your meal!
